It’s Amos Chanda who fired Maduma – Kambwili

Former Minister of Information and Broadcasting Chishimba Kambwili has disclosed that State House Speciall Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda fired and victimized a lot of workers in the public media.
Speaking on UNZA Radio, Kambwili disclosed that Chanda fired Kenneth Maduma for allowing opposition UPND statement on ZNBC.

He also disclosed that Chanda removed Faith Kandaba from the news room for the same reason.

He said he confronted President Edgar Lungu to explain why Chanda was harassing media personnel without seeking consent or guidance from his Ministry.

“Amos Chanda instructed the firing of Kenneth Maduma at ZNBC simply because he is Tonga and its believed he was allowing statements attacking PF from the opposition.”

He claimed that many media personnel were intimidated more by Chanda than any government official.

“Its not me who fired Maduma and others”.

Maduma was later sent into Foreign Service as Deputy Ambassador to Egypt.

Faith Kandaba died with depression and other victims are languishing in the streets.

Kambwili was expelled from the PF but remains a member of parliament in Roan thanks to a court interdict.

He has since together with Former Copperbelt Provincial Minister, Mwenya Musenge formed a splinter party to the PF, the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
