It’s not our duty to create jobs – Shamenda

Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda says it is not the responsibility of the PF government to create jobs for the people in the country.
Shamenda made the comments just after one of late president Michael Sata’s illegitimate children mocked unemployed graduates for failing to make it in life. Stella Mulenga, a bastard child of Sata, caused a stir on social media when she came up with what is now called the PF ‘tomato formula’ for graduates to be rich.
Speaking when he officiated at the Zambia Federation of Employers (ZFE) 49th annual general meeting in Lusaka on Friday, Shamenda says people should not make an issue out of the employment freeze on the public service sector.
Shamenda said the private sector and others are supposed to be celebrating the wage freeze because the country needs an efficient civil service to serve the people better and not to be looking to government to create jobs.
