It’s the wind of change

It’s the wind of change

On Thursday 15th August 2019, most parts of Zambia experienced very strong and dusty winds through out the day.

As usual social media commentators took to the floor and came up with different versions, views and explainations of this rare phenomenon. Of course this was in the absence of any prior warning from our meterological department who only issued a belated weather forecast to be experienced for the next 48 hours. And that the dusty winds were caused by a mysterious vice and unprecedented rise in temperature triggering high levels of corruption and that the winds would continue blowing for another 48hours across the whole country but with much concentration in the areas surrounding the mysterious 48 houses. Wind of change??
To someone of us who have lived through the different republics and change of governments, these explainations made a lot of sense.
I will endeavour to briefly mention here some of the historical trends and draw parallels with the current happenings and will leave it up to you my fellow country men and women to make your own inferences and judge whether or not a Wind of Change is what we are witnessing.
The FTJ administration’s Zamtroop Matrix and Chiluba is a Thief case triggered the fall of FTJ Government because they were in denial despite all what was highlighted in the matrix.
Fast forward today, we have the PF Government and their PePs Vs the FIC Trend reports. Despite the massive evidence, though veiled, contained in the FIC reports, the PF administration is still in denial. Give us evidence,  Mfwiti Mfwiti they all shout.
The FTJ Third term machinations Vs The Oasis Forum. By then we had a very united Oasis Forum comprising the Three Church Mother body, the Union like ZCTU, LAZ, NGOCC, The Students etc who stood up and shot down FTJs Third term bid.
Fast forward today PF with their useful idiots are attempting to change and pushing into the innocent zambians throats the constitutional amendment bill 10.. Even with the stubbornness of the Speaker, this will never work.
Like before, the church mother body is actively alert and against this illegality. Of course within, we have some compromised men and women of gold who are trying to detach themselves from the mother body by forming their own. We know what motivates them, so they will not manage to weaken the resolve of the real men and women of God.
As a further consolation to the well meaning zambians, the Law Association of Zambian and ZCTU have come on board together with another consortium of  Civil Society Organization – CSO.
Wind of change??
RB administration mounted the most expensive campaign ever witnessed before, which they started two years before the elections with campaign materials dressing not only the entire country but also trees and dogs. Incidentally, the State House monkeys were not happy resulting in the mysterious Kanitundila episode, signifying the sad and tearful end to RBs presidency and administration.
Zambia is currently witnessing the mobilization of campaign materials by the ruling PF but will these material things atone and sway the poverty levels being experienced? We just have to wait for the Wind of change.
Then we can also remember and draw parallels the Dora Siliya Vs Hon. William Harrington Zawa concession case. It came to pass; The Wind of change saw Dora finding herself in the dock and was only saved by we all know what.
Today, one man commando, William Harrington has again, on behalf of the zambian people, picked up another controversial case of the degazzetting and sharing of the Chalimbana Forest 27 by mainly the Peps.
One thing which is consistent with the defending of illegalities by any successive government is by parading compromised and weak technocrats.
This is exactly what government, through Dora Siliya attempted to do by parading innocent and unsuspecting technocrats from the Ministry of Lands, to justify the illegal process of degazzetting, non compliance of the Zema regulations and final underhand sharing of Forest 27 amongst the elite.
Well, the ackwardness of the entire press conference was so visible as the technocrats looked so much disoriented with what they were defending.
Poor souls kept on fidgeting and looked like naughty boys caught stealing cookies and are being asked to defend the indefensible.
Was it the Wind of change which was working?
So as we continue to brace ourselves to the governance manipulation, looming widespread hunger and famines and high levels of corruption, let us also brace ourselves to the forecasted dusty winds, IT’S THE WIND OF CHANGE.
