MMD President Nevers Mumba says it the United National Independence Party (UNIP) ruling and not the Patriotic Front as most Zambians are meant to believe. Speaking at a campaign meeting in Mutiti area of Mansa District, Dr. Mumba said President Sata was bringing back everything that made people dislike UNIP and what brought the down fall of UNIP in 1991.
He said the PF was destroying all the gains the country witnessed from 1991 to 2011.
“Chiluba said once we come into power you will stop lining up for bread or mealie-meal and indeed it happened we stopped but this is slowly coming back with Sata. UNIP has come back but in a form of PF. It is UNIP running this government he said.
Dr. Mumba said even yesterday’s days violence by Panga carrying PF cadres is just a replica of UNIP Vgilantees who harassed people at will.
“In UNIP there was no media freedom, no freedom of speech and that is what is happening this time around. Even as I’m talking now I can be arrested because I know officers from the Office of the President are here but what you should know is that there is no shop for PF, MMD cadre or for OP we all buy Mealie-Meal at the same price” he said.
And Dr. Mumba has emphasised that President Sata is the Chief of Confusion in the country as witnessed by his failure to stop the internal wrangles in the Patriotic Front.
Dr. Mumba said it seems President Sata enjoys sitting in State House while enjoying seing people butchering one another in full view of Cameras.
” I will repeat bashi Chilufya (Sata) enjoys confusion like this. He thrives on confusion for how else can you describe a President who just sits in State House and watch people being butchered. Any way we know he started it in Chawama some time back” he said.
And MMD National Executive Committee member Elizabeth Chitika Mulobeka said late President Fredrick Chiluba has been vindicated when at one time he told MP’s from Luapula province never to allow Sata become a Republican President because he was going to be a danger to society. She said Chiluba told her, Peter Machungwa’,Enerst Mwansa and Katele Kalumba never ever to allow the people of Luapula to vote for Sata because he was not able to deliver and unite the nation.
