Join Zambian Watchdog as correspondent

The Zambian Watchdog (www.zambianwatchdog) publishes breaking news on Zambia and about Zambia on a 24 hour basis. We also publish investigative special reports. We write news regardless of whom or what the subject is.

We fear no one and we favour no one. We are mostly interested in politics and exposing crime and those working against public interest.

We monitor public officials and those who seek public office.

The Zambian Watchdog is not associated with or connected to any political, religious or any other interest group. We are hundred per cent independent. Currently the Watchdog is operated in exile in Europe but all our reporters are in Zambia.

With donor support, we are in the process of expanding and accelerating our work.

We are currently recruiting journalists to join our network of correspondents.

As our correspondent you shall gather news from your station and submit it via email or phone to our news editors. You shall be paid according to your input.

Are you a trained journalist?

Do you have an interest in current affairs at all levels?

Do you have a lively interest in people, places and events?

Are you brave? What we do is often dangerous?

Are you able to write in a style which is easy to understand?

Are you able to remove your personal feelings/interests from the story you are telling the public?

Can you work independently?

Do you have regular access to the Internet?

If you are interested, send your full CV to [email protected]

Your CV shall include a mobile number and at least one referee currently working in the media sector (academic or practical). We shall contact him/her.

Journalists based outside Lusaka are particularly encouraged to apply.
