Judge writes report to ECZ clearing MP Kakoma

The Lusaka High Court has rendered a report to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) clearing former Zambezi West Member of Parliament Charles Kakoma from corruption allegations. Lusaka High Court Judge Jude Mulongoti in her report says the donation of pay phone by Kakoma was in line with government programme.

Judge Mulongoti further says the said pay phone was donated a month before elections as such it did not amount to corruption. In her brief report, Judge Mulongoti said the donated payphone was confined to one area therefore she found no reason why a donated phone in one area can affect the majority of voters in Zambezi West.

Meanwhile, the Zambian Watchdog has been informed that the PF did not want the Judge Mulongoti report to be exposed because the PF still wants to block Kakoma and others from re-contesting the seat. Information obtained so far reveal that there has been collusion between the PF lawyer Bonaventure Mutale and Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to abuse court process and block the five opposition political party members that are participating in the forthcoming September 11,2014 by-elections.

The Zambian Watchdog will tomorrow expose a scheme between Chibesakunda and Bonaventure Mutale who also happens to be Chibesakunda’s lawyer in a matter in which the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) wants Chibesakunda to vacate office.
