The Zambia under twenty three squad has arrived safely in Dakar Senegal. The team touched down at Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport at 03:15 hours Zambian time and was met by officials from the Confederation of African Football.
The junior Chipolopolo are in Senegal for the CAF U23 Championships which will kick off on Saturday, November 28. Zambia’s first game is on Saturday against Tunisia. The Junior Chipolopolo will then play perennial rivals South Africa before concluding their assignment with hosts Senegal at the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium.
All the players that Coach Fighton Simukonda has summoned have arrived in Senegal except Lubambo Musonda and Ronald Kampamba who will join the squad in Dakar on Thursday.
Delegation leader Lee Kawanu is confident Zambia will have a successful outing while coach Simukonda says his target is to go to the Brazil Olympics next year.
The top three teams at this tournament will represent Africa at the Brazil games.
