Kabanda writes to ACC,DEC concerning NCC

Citizens Forum Executive Director Simon Kabanda has written Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to ensure they investigate the procurement of microphones worth K1.8 billion a few weeks before the National Constitutional Conference (NCC) ended its seating.

Kabanda told journalists that he is particularly concerned about the resources that were spent by the NCC in the name of providing a new constitution at the expense of the Zambian people.

He disclosed that he is in the process of writing to the office of the Auditor General to establish whether the past government and relevant authorities followed the right procedures in the selection of delegates to sit on the commission.

Kabanda also said it is vital for the Auditor General to investigate and through a report inform the public on how much money was paid to participants according to the attendance register to allow transparency and give satisfaction to citizens who still have questions about the operations of the NCC.
