The Ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has reiterated its rejection of the presidential running mate provision in the draft constitution.
PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba, who is also number three in government hierachy says the presidential running mate clause should be removed from the draft constitution.
He said Friday that a vice-president is a chola boy (bag carrier) for the president and should not be given powers in the constitution.
Kabimba said the clause will be problematic in Zambia.
Ceremonial vice-president Guy Scott last week also rejected the clause says it can’t work in Zambia.
President Michael Sata has not publicly said anything on the draft constitution but the Watchdog understands that Kabimba is speaking on behalf of Sata.
But Sata being the opportunist he has always been may disown Kabimba depending on which direction the winds will blow heavily.
