Kabonde challenged to arrest William Banda

Some sections of society have challenged Zambia Police Inspector General Francis Kabonde to order for the arrest of Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) Lusaka Province Chairperson William Banda as he is inciting violence in the country.

In an interview with radio phoenix, Southern Africa Center for Constructive (SACCORD) Executive Director Lee Habasonda has expressed disappointment at the unruly behavior of Banda who is a member of the ruling party.

Habasonda said Banda should be summoned and detained as he is disturbing the peace and his actions are against the tenets of democracy that the nation stands for.

He also appealed to citizens to desist from taking part in violent acts as they are wicked and  must not be condoned as Zambia is a haven of peace.
