Kabwe PF MPs abduct bus driver, orders passengers out of bus

Kabwe central MP James Kapyanga and his Bwacha constituency counterpart Sydney Mushanga on Friday abducted a Kabwe bus driver Luke Mwanza and commandeered his bus to the traffic police after the legislators carelessly joined the road but washed the blame on the bus driver.

Mushanga, driving a Toyota Raum car registration ACM 721 with Kapyanga and looking drunk in the morning joined Katebe Chilufya road at Barclays bank roundabout without indicating, forcing the Hiace minibus ALK 4409 behind them in near collision.

Realising they were at fault, they got out of the car and ordered the passengers out of the bus then ordered Mwanza to drive to Kabwe traffic police with Kapyanga and another PF cadre only identified as John Chisanga aboard the bus while Mushanga followed behind.

But sources from the traffic police told the Watchdog that the legislators were told off by officers as they found them to be wrong and released Mwanza’s bus without any charges.

“Actually the driver had right of way and eye witnesses told us that Mushanga did not indicate that he was turning, just instantly joined the road so the driver had no problem we just released his bus but am sure our boss had a word with the MPs because they were asked to remain behind.” Said the source.
