Kafue Gorge fails to pay casual workers

More than two hundred (200) part-time and casual workers at Kafue Gorge Power Station have not been paid their dues for three months now.

Some affected workers complained to the Watchdog that it is sad that fulltime employees are paid on time while labourers are made to go home with nothing after sweating it out the whole day.

The more than 200 casual workers say they are afraid that they may never get their already meagre earnings because some of their colleagues have lost their jobs without being paid what they worked for.

‘Management is saying we should be patient. But for how long?’ asked one affected worker.

Kafue Gorge is one of the key installations of ZESCO
