Kalaba instigating rebellion against Lungu in Luapula

Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba is secretly instigating a rebellion against president Edgar Lungu’s leadership in Luapula over the sidelining of the people of that province in appointments.

Yesterday Tuesday, Kalaba’s thugs locked up the offices for the Deputy Permanent Secretary and wanted him to immediately leave the province.

Lungu’s newly appointed PS from Lusaka, Boniface Chimbwali, has not yet reported but would have been a victim as well.

Kalaba, who also owns and runs the New Vision Newspaper, feels he was very instrumental to Lungu’s presidency and was hoping to be appointed republican vice-president, a position that has been given to Inonge Wina.

Now Kalaba has also been arguing that the people of Luapula province are the ones that massively voted for Lungu and should have been recognized to the level of vice-presidency.

At the moment, the PF youths sponsored by Kalaba, the Bahati MP, are insisting that Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, the Mansa Central MP should be given a full ministerial position in Lungu’s government or the PF should forget about Luapula province.

Kalaba is even bragging that he will use his New Vision Newspaper to fight back if he is sidelined further.

But the position Dr. Chilufya was eyeing is that of Health Minister, which has already been given to Joseph Katema.

The PF cadres are also upset with Lungu’s abandoning of Sata’s legacy in the running of the country so far.

Luapula faces many challenges as one of the poorest provinces in the country and load shedding is worse than any place in Zambia.

Lungu is also under pressure to appoint Rupiah Banda’s people owing to the financing Rupiah arranged.
