A group led by Andrew Kamanga and Simataa Simataa which is masquerading as FAZ interim executive committee has praised President Rupiah Banda for bailing out the Zambia National Soccer team during their outing to Mozambique.
Speaking on behalf of the group, one Lwanga Mwilu says it is gratifying that President Banda took personal effort and interest to bail out the National Team which was almost stranded.
Mwilu says the her group is surprised to learn that the team was almost stranded when the legitimate FAZ led by soccer icon Kalusha Bwalya announced that it had made a surplus of 3 Billion Kwacha.
She said the happenings in Mozambique are some of the things that re-affirm the resolve to pass a vote of no confidence in the Kalusha executive.
During his press briefing on Saturday President Banda disclosed that he had sent some money to assist the national team during their crucial away win in Mozambique.
The President said this was done out of his love and commitment to the development of football in the country.
But president Banda did not tell the country that his sons are behind the confusion in the administration of football in Zambia
On Monday this week, FAZ warned members of the public to be wary of a group of disgruntled elements trying to destabilse football in Zambia.
“It is regrettable that non members of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) would be in the forefront masquerading as officials of the national soccer governing federation and go to the extent of issuing deceptive, fabricated and bogus statements on the state of the game in Zambia’, said FAZ in a statement.
FAZ said it would not waste time responding to Wanga Mwilu and her outbursts; whether a fabrication of her own imagination or indeed instructions from whomever she may be representing.
