Information minister Chishimba Kambwili has said opposition People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti is a president of rats because he has no following. Kambwili further says the lack of investor confidence and failing economy is due to negative reporting by the Post newspaper, which he has threatened to close down.
Speaking on Sunday interview, Kambwili said other than UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema whom he thanked, other political parties have been criticising the PF government through the independent post newspaper to make headlines. Mulongoti, who is a former minister in the MMD reign recently challenged government to disclose where the K500m meant for Kariba dam works has gone.
“I don’t trust the Post newspaper and what they write because I have also been misquoted. And Mulongoti, what following does he have? Is he a president of rats because I have never heard of any other member of his party than himself,” said Kambwili.
Kambwili further said that if other information ministers have failed the Post newspaper, he was ready to deal with the newspaper and teach them a lesson they will never forget. He said he was going to close down the newspaper so as to protect many Zambians. Soon after his appointment, Kambwili made similar threats against the Zambian Watchdog.
In another form of hallucination, Kambwili says his government will build 14 solar power stations in the country and that currently they are cleaning the mess left by other leaders (PF founding president late Michael Sata included).
