Kambwili tells Kapyongo to argue with fellow street vendors

STEPHEN Kampyongo is an overgrown political baby boy who is drunk with unknown powers and swimming in wrong waters under a very big jacket, says Chishimba
Responding to Kampyongo, the Patriotic Front national youth and security chairperson, who rebuked him as the most undisciplined member of the PF central committee, Kambwili said the home affairs minister was a political nonentity who was merely drunk with power.
I want to be very consistent with my politics and statements. If I thought I cannot answer [Rainbow Party general secretary Wynter] Kabimba because he is a political nonentity and yet Kabimba is fifty times better than Kampyongo, why would I waste time to answer a person like Kampyongo?
Kambwili asked.

“As far as I am concerned, Kampyongo is an over grown political baby boy, who is drunk with unknown powers and is swimming in wrong waters under a very big Jacket. I will not waste my precious time to answer an overgrown political baby boy with no political track record at all. People may not notice the difference if you argue with a fool, that’s the best response I can give to Kampyongo.”

He said after being relieved of his ministerial duties, he returned to his business but Kampyongo would go back to Katondo Street where he used to be an illegal money-changer once Zambians retire him. Kambwili wondered what wrong he had committed by advising the ruling party on the unity of purpose for Kampyongo to demean him in the manner he did.

He can go and argue or exchange words with his fellow moneychangers at Katondo, I don’t belong to that category. He is teasing me that I was fired, me when I was fired I went back to what I know best; my business. Him when he is fired, he will go back to Katondo to change dollars. I can’t waste time to exchange words with that little boy. What have I done? Because I was merely advising the party to unite, unity of purpose. But anyway, in Bemba they say akanwa kamilandu kalaibala because I said bootlickers, he is attacking me; maybe he belongs to that group,
Kambwili said.

“I didn’t mention anybody, I just said bootlickers all along have misled heads of state. Akanwa kamilandu kalaibala, but I will not waste my time. Like I said, he is an overgrown political baby boy, drunk with unknown powers, swimming in wrong waters under a very big jacket.” Kampyongo told journalists in Lusaka that contrary to his rantings, Kambwili was the one who was undisciplined as he had been daring the party and its rules since he was shown the exit door from President Edgar Lungu’s government barely two months of his reappointment. But Kambwili said: “Remind him that me I have been fired by an individual who has the prerogative to choose who he wants to work with but for him, he will be fired from politics by the masses.”
