Kansanshi fires employees for demanding ‘more money in their pockets’

Twenty-six (26) Kansanshi mineworkers have become the first victims of the PF government policy of dismissing employees who demand for better wages and conditions of service.

Kansanshi mine yesterday dismissed 26 employees for demanding for ‘more money in their pockets’ in fulfillment with the PF’s election promise.

There has so been no word on the part of the PF government regarding the plight of the dismissed workers.

This especially that government on its part is itching to dismiss all the public service workers who may reject the meager 4 percent increment being offered to them.

President Michael Sata himself recently issued the threats to fire all the civil servants when he swore in Secretary to the Treasury, Evans Chibiliti.

The PF government is also on record wanting to employee more cadres in the civil service.

Zambia has been rocked by a series of industrial action by employees in various sectors of the economy, partly blamed on the PF’s pre-election promise of more money in people’s pockets.

There has also been a general increment on the prices of essential commodities due to the PF’s unstable economic policies that has led to the continued depreciation of the local currency.
