KCM puts 600 workers on forced leave

More than 600 miners fear they have lost their jobs after being put on indefinite, forced leave by KCM management at the plant in chililabombwe.

A reliable source who is a miner and affected victim said that the move is an indirect offloading of workers after the company failed to
offload 2,000 workers recently.

He revealed that there are more 1000 expatriate workers mostly from India working at KCM in Chingola and Chililabombwe without proper immigration documentation.

He further disclosed that every Zambian miner who loses his job is replaced by more than two expatriates from Indian.
