Kitwe DC lies to police over land he grabbed

KITWE District Commissioner (DC) Elias Kamanga has developed a new strategy of grabbing a piece of land from a Kitwe farmer Kevin Soper by telling lies and misleading law enforcement agencies that the outspoken farmer was using his land for offloading copper.
Two weeks ago,Mr Kamanga abused his office when he used a paper with the Office of the President letterhead to write a letter to lawyer William Nyirenda over the issue of the same land which was personal and had nothing to do with the government.
Mr Kamanga is alleged to be misleading some law enforcement agencies including the Office of the President (OP) that Mr Soper was using his farm to offload copper and then take it to unknown destination.
But, some law enforcement agencies are doubting Mr Kamanga because they know him to be a crook, a trickster and an opportunist.
“This Kamanga wants to use us in fighting the battle against Soper. He wants to grab the land from Soper. He is now telling us that Soper is using that piece of land to offload stolen copper, but why is it that we don’t hear of stolen copper from any mine,” said one law enforcement officer.
And a neighbour to Mr Soper said Mr Kamanga wanted to grab the piece of land from the white-man so that he could give it to his father who is Malawian.
The neighbour to Mr Soper, who spoke on grounds of anonymity, cautioned Mr Kamanga to stop using his office to intimidate people because he may be treading on slippery ground that could make him fall down.
“The way Kamanga is behaving, he may fall down any time. He should just enjoy the salary he is being given. He should even than President Michael Sata for having appointed him DC because that boy is a criminal and does not deserve to be DC.
“Soper may have his own problems, but it is unfair to tell lies that he is using his farm to offload stolen copper. No, that is not good. Kamanga wants that piece of land so that he gives it to his father who is Malawian,”said one of the neighbours to Soper
