Kitwe – Lusaka bus fares increased to Kr80

BUS fares from Kitwe to Lusaka have been increased from K70 to K80 with effect from this morning following the lifting of subsidies on fuel which has led to the increment of the pump price for fuel.
Bus owners, who had earlier differed on the bus fares from Kitwe to Lusaka because some wanted the fares to be increased to K90, others to K85 while others to K80, decided to settle for K80 from Kitwe to Lusaka.
Sources within the Bus and Taxi owners Association of Zambia confirmed that the bus owners had differed over the bus fares from Kitwe to Lusaka before they settled for K80.
The source, who availed the fare chart for Copperbelt Inter-mine routes which had no bus fare for Kitwe-Lusaka, said the Kitwe-Lusaka bus fare was missing on the fare chart because the bus owners had not agreed on the bus fare.

A visit to the bus stations revealed that the bus owners had increased bus fares from K70 to K80.

Power tools, Mazhandu, CR and Euro-Africa Bus Services had all increased bus fares from K70 to K80.

For Kitwe to Ndola, bus fares have been increased from K16 to K18, Kitwe to Luanshya bus fares have been increased from K15 to K17, Kitwe to Mufulira, bus fares are from K15 to K17.

For Kitwe to Chingola, bus fares have been increased from K15 to K17, Mufulira to Ndola bus fares have been increased from K18 to K20, Mufulira to Chingola, bus fares have been increased from K16 to K18.
