First President of Zambia Kenneth Kaunda has been discharged from hospital but will continue with medication from home but minister of health Chitalu Chilufya says KK has no ailment. The discharge came shortly after dictator Edgar Lungu planned to visit him as recommended by Lungu’s Sangomas from Malawi.
The 93 year old former President who ruled the country with an iron fist for 27 years was diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted to the University Teaching Hospital – UTH since Tuesday. In spite of reports of his health not being so well, government has maintained that he had a ‘small ailment’ and was undergoing further medical check-ups.
KK first suffered a life threatening fate that landed him in hospital again when he was struck by a ‘terrible flu’ according to his daughter who is also one of the staff in his office, Cheswa Kaunda.
Meanwhile Lungu is making efforts to visit KK at his residence, East of Lusaka as ordered by his Malawian Sangomas (Witch doctors). Initially Lungu who has not been to see the former President since he returned from Swaziland was supposed to visit KK in the evening today but upon learning that he is being discharged he has decided to make fresh arrangements to visit him at his residence.
