Kunda annoyed by MP’s refusal to welcome him

Vice President George Kunda has described as shameful failure by Siavonga United Party for National Development (UPND) Member of Parliament (MP) Douglas Siakalima to receive him on his tour of the district.

He said instead of being focused on developmental issues, Mr Siakalima was preoccupied with politicking.

Vice President Kunda who described as total negligence the conduct of the UPND MP said he expected MPs to inform Government of the needs of the community during his visits to their constituencies.

Addressing a public rally at Ingómbe Ilede in Siavonga in Southern Province this afternoon, the Vice President wondered how the UPND leader would present the needs of the community to Government as he was not able to interact with him during his tour of the district.

He said Mr Siakalima who was always fighting Government had totally neglected his people.

The Vice President told residents of Ingómbe Ilede that the benefits of having an MP from the ruling party were immense.

And the Vice President has assured the people of Siavonga that Government was going to work on the Bottom Road as the project had already been budgeted for in national budget.

He said the reconstruction of the Bottom Road would enable the valley people move their produce to markets without difficult.

The Vice President today kicked off a tour of five districts of Southern Province.

He is tomorrow expected to arrive in Sinazongwe where he would inspect several developmental projects before addressing a public rally.
