Lawyer arrested for forging documents

NDOLA lawyer Gershom Mubanga has been arrested for allegedly uttering false documents and procuring execution of the documents by false pretences.

Major Mubanga, 64, of 4283 Tanzania Road in Northrise residential area in Ndola, was arrested on Monday this week and has since been released on Police bond.

Acting Copperbelt Police chief Joyce Kasosa confirmed the incident and said the accused would appear in the Ndola magistrate’s court tomorrow for two charges of fraud.

“Major Mubanga has been charged with uttering false documents contrary to Section 352 of the Laws of Zambia and procuring execution of documents by false pretences contrary to Section 354 of the Laws of Zambia,” she said.

Maj Mubanga was alleged to have transferred property belonging to Zambia Legion Registered Trustee, the owners of Belcel Properties in Ndola and Chingola districts, fraudulently to the Ex-Servicemen League of Zambia where he was the Copperbelt Province chairperson.
