LAZ president refuses to resign

steven Lungu, the president of the Law Association of Zambia says he wont quit despite being accused of politicising the lawyers’ association. Lungu says people calling for his resignation are not competent to comment on legal matters. The judicial and allied workers union of Zambia last week challenged Lungu to vacate office. The union said Lungu was using LAZ to fight personal and political battles. But Lungu claimed the people asking him to go have no basis. He said LAZ has rules and regulations of operations. Lungu has also been accused of annexing LAZ to the PF/UPND pact.
