LAZ, UPND and General Miyanda join petition on Lungu’s third term bid

The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has joined the case in which four briefcase opposition parties have petitioned the Constitutional Court to interpret the constitution whether it allows Edgar Lungu to contest the 2021 elections.
And the United Party for National Development (UPND) and Heritage Party leader Brigadier General Godfrey Miyanda have also applied to be joined in the petition.
UPND Secretary General Steven Katuka made the application on behalf of the party.
The four political jokers who petitioned the Con Court among them Dan Pule are campaigning for Lungu to contest the 2021 elections and are being represented by Sakwiba Sikota from Central Chambers.
The joining in of LAZ, the UPND and Brigadier General Godfrey Miyanda is expected to add value and some semblance of seriousness to the petition.
The matter is being held in chambers and Judge Munalula has since adjourned the matter tomiyanda-2 determine the applications.
