From the day of that press conference when GBM officially announced his acceptance as UPND Vice President Administration, a lot of noise has come out from several sections of the community condemning GBM’s move and asking him to relinquish his seat in parliament. I have tried my best to ignore this issue but in my language we have a saying “Ichikalipa chumfwa umwine” so seeing all the headlines on some media houses and some opinions by some people I thought I should scratch this off my mind.
Why is GBM and HH being persecuted for taking this move when the PF president has done it and no one made a fuss from it? Some ignorant people will say the PF president Edgar Lungu is entitled to appoint anyone from the house, but my question is isn’t government being run by a political party the PF? So if Edgar is entitled to appoint anyone from the house then Edith Nawakwi, Nevers Mumba, Elias Chipimo, HH and other opposition party leaders also are entitled to appoint anyone from the house, If these ignorant noise makers want the constitution to take its course then let this constitution start with Edgar Lungu with the opposition MPs he has appointed then we’ll let it go on to take it’s course on the opposition. That is why HH blantantly said “we’re also returning a gesture” Yes let HH also return the gesture,Scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours, Edgar is not a god that he should get away scot free and let the opposition suffer whenever they take a move similar to his. This country Zambia does not belong to Edgar’s father, mother or Edgar Lungu himself it belongs to all of us and as such we should have an equal opportunity to doing anything in this land. If Edgar or his minions busy making noise over GBM’s move are not happy, life is easy to terminate, hang your your excellence and your noise makers out there suicide takes less than an hour. Everyone out there not comfortable with GBM’s move and HH welcoming GBM into UPND sorry but thats just the way it’s going to be. Please leave GBM and HH alone!!! God Bless.
