Dear Sir

RE: COMPLAINT REGARDING CONTINOUS EMPLOYMENT OF EXPATRIATES (FOREIGNERS) WITH SAME OR LESS SKILLS REQUIRED COMPARED TO ZAMBIANS.

With reference to the above stated subject’s wish to bring to your honorable office the trend or habit which has continued of employing unqualified expatriates at the expense of locals by multinational companies in Zambia. Below is a current advert running in South Africa Media and on internet to support my claim or allegations which is accessible?

Whilst appreciating the fact that world is now global ,foreigners should not practice, racialism, nepotism or just discrimination at all when employing. I am prompted to complain to your office by virtue of the fact that apart from advertising in South Africa they have also discriminated by going to the extent of only limiting applicants to South Africans only but to work in our beautiful motherland and resources .And this is the Third position that they want to recruit a white south African after having replaced a Black Zambian with a White south african Woman in the Position of Finance Manager when the department have qualified Zambians. Hence, frustrating the PF government efforts of Job creation making our party and goverment unpopular. If you look at the Salary being offered which is exclusive of benefits and taxes is much higher than what they would pay a Zambian in a position of Assistant Accountant doing the same job. And this same company has about 40-50 expatriates in Lumwana at ago how? The question am asking myself is how many foreigners are out there with Valid permits for Zambia or are more to come. What is Immigration doing and how do they obtain them and in some cases some are practicing Human resource when they do not understand the Zambia Labor laws.

Therefore am appealing to your ministry to work hand in hand with Immigration, Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant (ZICA) who l still think are only interested in Members Subscription and not there welfare (Members) as they do not inspect or execute their duties, Services of protecting them Zambian Accountants by providing job opportunities through continuous screening of those practicing accounting in Zambia/liasing with the Immigration Department and visiting companies. And making sure that Zambians are not deprived of rare opportunities. Immigration needs to scrutinize carefully these people.

And, Finally, l thank you  and wish u all the best in whatever you are do and keep up the Good works of making sure all companies abide by the Zambian law.VIVA PF and to the people of Zambia.

Thank you in anticipation for your time and consideration. And if you need more information please do not hesitate to contact me on this email. Take note that they are few Multinational Companies in Kitwe namely Hitachi, Barloworld, Sandvik, Atlas Copco and Bell.

Yours Sincerely

M.Chilembe
