Mr. Liato who was cabinet minister under the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) noted that the job insecurity undermines the country’ s stability.
Mr. Liato recalled that under the previous Rupiah Banda led government job security and stability was maintained even at the time of the global economic crisis.
The former labour minister has since advised the Patriotic Front government to ensure job security in country to enable stability in the economic development of the country.
Mr. Liato who is currently on 50 million kwacha bail after being jailed a few weeks ago for being in possession of 2.1 billion kwacha which was buried at his Mwembeshi farm was speaking in an interview with Zambezi news in Lusaka.
And the former Labour Minster has called on trade unions in the country not to be intimidated by the ruling Patriotic Front but rise to the challenge of advocating for the rights of workers.
Mr. Liato who was once Zambia Congress of Trade Union-ZCTU- vice-President before, has reiterated the importance of a strong trade union in the country.
