Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has appealed to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to take seriously allegations raised by Patriotic Front (PF) Local Government and Housing Chairperson, Given Lubinda that  Universal Printing Group (UPG), a South African Company contracted to print ballot papers for Zambia’s forthcoming elections is corrupt.

Speaking to 5fm, TIZ Executive Director Rueben Lifuka said the investigative wings of ACC and ECZ should get to the bottom of the issue to avoid misleading the nation.

Lifuka said there is need to know the truth about UPG and the allegations leveled against the organization by Lubinda such is a critical issue that affects all Zambians as polls determine where the nation is heading.

He noted that once findings of the investigation are presented citizens will be able to make informed decisions as sensitive material such as ballot papers to be printed by a credible company to allow transparency and free and fair elections..
