Livingstone Assistant District Registration officer Nelson Sakala says the city has recorded a good number of voters to meet the projected number of Registered voters.
In an interview with ZANIS, today, Mr. Sakala said by yesterday the tourist capital had recorded 8526 voters meaning that 1470 remaining to meet the projected number of voters.
He said that he was happy that the district has recorded a good number of voters as opposed to the previous shifts before the extension of the voters registration exercise.
He disclosed the district voters education committee has decided to re open Victoria hall so that they should capture people who didn’t register when they are doing their businesses in town.
He has since appealed to the people of Livingstone and other areas to come and register in large numbers so they beat the deadline of 18september 2010.
Mr. Sakala has however noted that the major hiccup of the exercise is the none computerization of the National Registration Process as compared to the voters registration which is computerized and data of a person can be captured at any centre in Zambia.
