After recruiting Edith Nawakwi, State House has now managed to hire NGOCC Chairperson Sara Longwe to attack UPND vice president and presidential running mate Geoffrey Mwamba in a desperate attempt to malign the opposition party.

Edith Nawakwi is now a full time PF campaigner and has been assigned state security, which includes 10 secret service officers to escort her and approve her speeches especially in what are considered UPND strongholds. (details coming)

And the NGOCC, an umbrella organization for gender activist NGO is deeply divided over Longwe’ statement, with some accusing Longwe of abusing their affiliation. Some affiliate NGOs have advised Longwe to issue such statements in her personal capacity since the NGOCC has already taken a position on the topic.
Both local and international opinion polls are predicting an outright win by the opposition UPND in next month’s polls, heightening desperation in the ruling party.

Sara Longwe made herself available to be interviewed by PF cadres working for Richard Sakala’s toilet paper  and allegedly issued a defamatory statement that GBM is not fit to hold any position in Zambia and HH made a mistake to pick on him as running mate.
State House source told the watchdog, Friday morning that Longwe had been paid some undisclosed amount of money.
“NGOCC had taken a position that the GBM issue was resolved at the time. NGOCC engaged GBM then as a Cabinet minister over the issue and he was even made ambassador against GBV.
“So now the leadership of NGOCC had taken a position that it should remain non-partisan and avoid any comments that would compromise the institution,” said the source
Another source said State House had tasked Vice President Inonge Wina to reach out to Longwe. Wina is a former chairperson of NGOCC and personal friend of Longwe.
” That’s how Longwe was paid huge amounts and made a statement (to Richard Sakala’s toilet paper) that was not agreed with the rest of the board members,” said the source.
There are concerns in the NGO world that Longwe is no longer the activist she was due to a certain named mental condition that has afflicted her and she has become open to abuse by opportunists of all hues.
