The Lozi King, Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II of the Lozi people in Western Province has reportedly fled his palace in Limulunga following pressure by the Barotse Movement.
Buit Western Province Minister Richard Mwapela refuted the statement in an interview with ZANIS in Mongu today.
Mr. Mwapela challenged anyone still doubting to travel to Mongu and see if the Litunga is not at his palace.
The Minister stressed that contrary to assertions, the Litunga was at Nalolo palace in Senanga yesterday for preparations of the installation of a new chief.
The Minister said he accompanied the Litunga to Nalolo yesterday and the Litunga returned to the Limulunga palace the same day.
And Western Province Police Commanding Officer, Peacewell Mweemba has said the situation in Mongu is very peaceful.
He explained that the only confusion that took place in Limulunga yesterday was caused by a group called Linyungadambo who where not happy with the outcome of a case which ended in a nolle prosequi.
Mr. Mweemba said no arrests have been made so far from the frucas but noted that police were investigating the matter.
He further assured the nation that Limulunga royal village was well secured.
