PF Divisions Balloons As Given Lubinda And Jean kapata Turn Against Lungu.
The divisions in the Patriotic Front party are increasing with its Ministers of Lands and Justice, Jean Kapata and Given Lubinda vowing to impose their own “true greens” (PF) leaders at grassroots in the on going provincial party elections.
The two ministers have maintained that they will ensure only true PF are given positions at grassroot level on grounds that currently the MMD had hijacked the party through their godfather Rupiah Banda.
Other than MMD being the only party with two factions, PF has added to this with the Lubinda-Kapata PF faction being the latest and against the Lungu-RB PF faction.
In fact the two ministers are among the 64 PF members of parliament who are against corrupt President, Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s third term bid.
Lungu is banking on the same MMD grassroots to elect him at the convention as leader of PF and any plans to kick out the MMD members are viewed as threats on his third term bid.
Last night, Given Lubinda and Jean Kapata informed their fellows that the threats from their party Secretary General Davies Mwila, were baseless as they had already moved into top gear.
Jean Kapata who is Lands Minister stated that is the one who put Lungu as PF President with the help of Kabwe MP Tutwa Ngulube and former PF Member Kelvin Fube (KBF) with the help of Constitutional court judges adding that no one will stand in their way of blocking Lungu’s third term bid.
It remains unclear what faction Lubinda and Jean Kapata are pushing into PF presidency and the country, considering that the two together with 62 others are bitter with the MMD and Rupiah Banda.
Yesterday, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila received a petition from MMD members but dressed in PF who demanded that Kapata and Lubinda be punished for imposing their own leaders at PF grassroot level.
And Mwila vowed to present the petition before Edgar Chagwa Lungu for action.
But this was a planned move directed by Edgar Chagwa Lungu himself to get rid of Jean Kapata as Chairperson of elections in PF and Given Lubinda.
There is now a growing mistrust between Edgar Chagwa Lungu and Jean Kapata, Given Lubinda and the 62 other PF members of parliament who feel used by MMD members.
Given Lubinda by origin has been a UPND staunch believer and Top Secret investigations in parts states that he is not trusted in the PF for being Lozi and partly Tonga whereas Jean Kapata is also not trusted with position of elections chairperson for being a North westerner.
And reports just received indicate that vice president Inonge Wina could be part of this syndicate to oust Lungu and the MMD out of the PF presidency.
In 2015, Given Lubinda challenged Edgar Chagwa Lungu on the PF presidency in Kabwe but withdrew from the race in the last minute and is now allies with Jean Kapata
