Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees have hinted that the erstwhile Kabwata Parliamentarian has not been to the office in the past two weeks.
“The Minister has taken some leave and he has not been coming to the office, if i am not mistaken this should be the second week or so.
“In fact he was scheduled to have traveled to Malaysia for some Global Anti Corruption meeting but we are told that State House revoked his permission to travel as you know ministers have first to seek permission before they travel,” said the Ministry official.
Sources close to Lubinda, revealed that the Minister who is African Parliamentarian Network Against Corruption (APNAC) Executive member of the continental body and former APNAC Zambia chapter, was supposed to have contested the position of Vice President for the continental body.
“But it seems that all this information was known by State House who are in a hurry to dent his good image through those unwarranted charges they have put on him,” said the source.
Meanwhile, sources in the PF say there is some renewed vigor by enemies of the Kabwata MP to expel him from the party.
“Those stories that are coming in the Newspapers (the Post) are planted by the MP’s enemies. It is not true that he has been campaigning because at no time has the minister gone into Kabwata to conduct campaigns.
“But it seems his enemies are hell bent to destroy him. We are even told that have even identified people to stand in the by election,” said the source.
