Foreign Affairs and Tourism Minister, Given Lubinda has wholeheartedly welcomed the re-aligning of the department of tourism from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to his Ministry.
Mr Lubinda said the re-alignment of the department of tourism into his ministry meant added responsibility for him and his officers but said he was ready to take up the work.
“For me it means added responsibility and more work. I will take the responsibility bestowed upon me by His Excellency President Sata,” he said
He told ZANIS in Las Vegas where he is attending the 40th Safari Club International annual Hunters’ convention in the United States of America, that the ministry will use Zambian Embassies abroad to aggressively market tourism while not forsaking local tourism.
He hoped that he would receive the similar support to promote tourism as he did when he was a Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Tourism.
On Thursday, President Michael Sata re-aligned the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Information and Broadcasting by taking away the component of Tourism from the latter to the former.
Mr Lubinda, who is fondly referred to as a tourist attraction himself by the President, was recently in the world’s biggest news networks following his bravery of Bungee jumping on a Victoria fall cliff in Livingstone
