Lungu approves Chishimba Kambwili’s costly countrywide tour

Last week Zambia Police Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja mockingly told the nation that Lungu’s costly countrywide travels were not campaigns but checking on and explaining development projects. Vice President Inonge Wina was in Northern province untill about weekend, and now on 24th January Chishimba Kambwili posts on his face book page:

Attention,

Atte

Northern Province I am on my way! I am kicking off my countrywide tour of explaining developmental projects, sensitising citizens about the newly amended people driven constitution, informing people about our government’s plans and objectives. I have been tasked by the President in my capacity and chief government spokesperson to make the people aware that their government is a working government.

I will be virtually on all the radio stations in and around Northern province beginning with radio Mano in Kasama. I will be in Northern province for one week and I will visit the following areas…. Kasama, Mpulungu, Mbala, Luwingu and Malole. If you are in these areas do join me on air or during the tour of our projects. I will receive the full programme as soon as I receive it.

I will be stopping over at various intervals mainly roadside markets to find out anything that is required and get some feedback.

Thank you,

CK.

However, Kambwili’s page has been littered with unwelcoming remarks, one contributor has warned of stoning him, others have wondered which law Lungu used to appoint a one man constitution review commission. Others wondered what the role of District commissioners is if it has to take a minister to undertake such a costly exercise leaving his job suffering in Lusaka.
