PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has continued with the legacy of none appearance for radio and television interviews with the latest being last night’s Muvi TV special interview programme where he was expected to feature but instead sent a proxy.
Muvi TV featured opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema for a live Assignment programme at 19:30 hours last night and soon after announced that PF candidate Edgar Lungu would also feature.
But like other radio and television interview programmes, Lungu failed to feature but continued sending proxies in this instance Emmanuel Mwamba who appeared on his behalf.
Even the pre-recorded Lungu’s ZNBC television interview programme that was supposed to be aired last night was cancelled.
Last week, the Lungu camp claimed he could not feature for a live presidential debate with other contenders because he was busy campaigning.
But so far Lungu has only been pitching up at PF boostele rallies where no real messages were being delivered.
With campaigns officially closing at 18:00 hours this evening, Lungu will not be eligible to feature for any evening radio or television interview.
Most of Lungu’s radio appearances have so far been dominated by other people such as Fr. Frank Bwalya, Mwamba, Brian Hapunda and other people.
But one thing for sure is that the person Lungu succeeded as PF candidate, Michael Sata, was a daring of the media as an opposition figure.
Sata managed to drive his messages on any radio or television station and only healthy slowed him when he got sick inside State House.
But it is now clear Lungu is completely unable to articulate issues to the public on radio and TV even before he hopes to get into State House.
Not sure how he hopes to make a case for Zambia at various local and international foras as president.
