EDGAR Lungu yesterday said he did not know how to speak in church because he is not a priest. Lungu, the PF presidential candidate who is also defence and justice minister, struggled to address congregants at Mansa Catholic Church, much to the surprise of congregants. Lungu , who looked unprepared to address the church, took some seconds in front of congregants without saying a word, until he publicly confessed that he did not know how to address the church members because he was not a priest. Before he could finish his first sentence, congregants started shouting “volume”, urging the Chawama member of parliament, who was using a public address system to project his voice. “I don’t know how to address you. This platform is meant for priests and I am not a priest,” Lungu said. He further urged the clergy to be advising government officials on how to run the affairs of the country. “We expect you to guide us on governance issues because we are just politicians,” Lungu said. He said the Christian community should also continue to pray for peace in the country. “I have been told to limit my words if I am to be allowed to come and speak here again,” said Lungu.
