Edgar Lungu has continued dismantling late president Michael Sata’s empire with the latest being the dismissal of the Zambia Intelligence Director General Martin Mwanambale and replaced him with Samuel Nkhoma.
The source said Nkhoma was among intelligence officers who held meetings with other intelligence and security officials from Rwanda, Congo DRC and Angola at Mfuwe’s Chichele Lodge together with Katanga province Governor Moise Katumbi.
Nkhoma was Mwanambale’s deputy and both worked Xavier Chungu as special assistants.
Nkhoma was sent into foreign service in Tokyo, Japan but was recalled after Xavier was axed by late president Levy Mwanawasa.
Sources at the office of the president special division told the watchdog that officers are not happy with the promotion of Nkhoma as he is disliked by many of them because of being incompetent and pompous.
“Officers are not happy because this man is totally incompetent and pompous.
He is not as down to earth as his predecessor Mwanambale who mixed freely with his junior officers,” the source said.
The source said late Sata’s man, Mwanambale was retired on the day Lungu went for his holiday in Mfuwe.
