President Edgar Lungu has released K300,000 to MMD Die hard youths coordinator but now Copperbelt province minister Bowman Lusambo to distribute among other Copperbelt PF structures and parliamentarians for the purpose of beating up any people opposed to his third term bid.
During a meeting hosted by Lusambo and paid from the same money at Protea Hotel in Ndola today, the MPs and PF cadres who attended declared that they will beat up any person that would be opposed to Lungu’s third term bid whether those persons are from PF or outside the PF.
The group has tasked Luanshya MP Steven Chungu to note down some of the vocal civil service organisations and Law association of Zambia – LAZ President Linda Kasonde is among the targeted persons. Others are influential clergy men and opposition leaders. Some of the MPs who attended were Frank Ngambi and Alexander Chiteme for Chifubu and Nkana constituencies respectively.
One of the MPs who attended has disclosed that the scheme will be replicated throughout the country with constant funding from the treasury through corrupt deals. Some media owners have also been targeted to ensure that they block all opposition views as they propagate Lungu’s third term bid.
However, confusion erupted at the end of the meeting as Lusambo is said to have under declared the money thereby making it difficult for the MPs to pay their cadres who came to attend the event. From the K300,000 given, Lusambo only declared K100,000 but after pressure from his colleagues, he declared another K100,000 to make it K200,000.
