As earlier reported by the Zambian Watchdog, illegal President Edgar Lungu last night chartered a private jet to New York in the US for the UN General Assembly.
Lungu was only illegally sworn in on Tuesday after bribing all the government institutions from ECZ to the Judges no wonder he was in a hurry for the inauguration ceremony that costed Zambian taxpayers money over K150 million.
In a depressed economy that now needs an IMF programme due to PF recklessness, Lungu left for New York with a large delegation using a chartered jet costing not less than US400,000 dollars while the masses are wallowing in deep poverty.
Clearly these are the sort of things He missed during the campaign period where he unleashed massive violence and brutality against the UPND, who were his main opponents and many believe won the elections.
And like many dictators, Lungu bragged that he was going to the UN summit to lecturer about the importance of peace in the world yet hundreds of opposition supporters are currently in jails in Zambia with same internally displaced fearing being arrested.
Critical private media outlets have also been shut down yet Lungu will want to lecturer the likes of Obama that Zambia was a model of peace and democracy in Africa.
(In the photo is one of the many UPND youths, Remmy Mukoba, currently in detention at Longacres Police station for more than two weeks now without charge. That’s unconstitutional as the law says someone must be charged and taken to court within 48 hours after being arrested. But who cares about the law and Constitutional in Zambia. Even the international community has kept a blind eye despite calls for help from opposition leaders. The only time they can come and make allowances in a country like Zambia is when citizens set the country on fire and they come for so called peace keeping and mediation meetings. But like was the case of Rwanda, by then thousands of people had already perished. Worse for Zambia, Lungu rewarded known thugs and brutal characters like Stephen Kampyongo, Davies Chama, Bowman Lusambo, Frank Bwalya by appointing them senior government positions in order for them to now use state machinery to brutalise citizens. Chama is on record of shooting a citizen during the Mulobezi bye elections while Stephen Kampyongo is the thug who wanted to bring down the helicopters carrying opposition leaders in Shiwangandu Constituency where he is MP. But all these don’t matter to the international community as along as citizens have not set their country on fire. In fact the Zambian Watchdog will soon reveal details of how the UNDP stuff in Zambia were part of the election rigging scheme in Zambia and eventual judicial outcome.
