Lungu lied, police and Zesco still investigating cause of fire

The PF controlled Zambia Police has disagreed with their Commander In Chief Edgar Lungu on the cause of the fire that gutted the City Market.

Edgar Lungu yesterday told the world that Zesco Limited the power utility company had told government that there was no electrical fault. However, The PF controlled Zambia Police Spokesperson says Zesco, the Police and the Lusaka City Council are still on the ground investigating the cause of the fire.

” The Police, Lusaka City Council and Zesco are still on the ground to ascertain the cause of the fire,’Esther Mwata Katongo said live on Hot Fm radio at the same time Edgar Lungu was yapping at State House.

Meanwhile, the Zambia Police has confirmed the Zambian Watchdog reports that the fire at the market may have been ignited by someone from the security agencies.

On the same forum the Police Spokesperson said the fire started 10 minutes after the Police Officer in charge had knocked off soon after the paramilitary officers patrolling the market had handed over the shift to the market security. ” We suspect someone who knows the security very well was involved because the fire started 10 minutes after the officer incharge had knocked off after the paramilitary handed over the shift,” she said.

EDITORS NOTE. We are aware that the City Market Security comprises PF cadres. However a detailed story will be published soon on how the government planned this in order to declare a State of Emergency.
