Lungu orders police to arrest chief Munkonge

President Edgar Lungu has ordered police to arrest Chief Mukonge of Northern Province and accused him of some ‘fake’ issues of tradition in the area.

Chief Mukonge is among the traditional leaders that visited and offered solidarity to UPND Vice-President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba when he was recently arrested on orders from President Edgar Lungu and charged with unlawful drilling.

Lungu was recently in Northern Province and left instructions to have Chief Mukonge arrested and this morning, police travelled all the way from Copperbelt to Kasama and have since detained the tradional leader.

It is not yet clear what offence Lungu and his PF leadership will charge the traditional leader.

Lungu was Home Affairs Minister when now Paramount Chief Chitimukulu was being tormented by the PF regime and refused to recognise him.
