Lungu prays Luo rejects appointment, but Luo also reluctant due to RB’s influence

President Edgar Lungu is praying that newly appointed Gender Minister Nkandu Luo does not take up her appointment as Minister because he believes she is a very divisive element in government and is not liked by both former president Rupiah Banda and the Bashilubemba, according to highly placed State House sources.

Sources revealed that Luo on her part is very upset because Lungu did the exact opposite of the very things she did not want, such as former president Rupiah Banda to be the one calling the shots in Lungu’s government by hijacking late Michael Sata’s PF.

Luo also did not want the Chitimukulu Henry Kanyantta Sosala to be recognized and she also wanted Justice Ireen Mambilima dismissed from the government system including from the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

But Lungu has done a complete ‘donchi kubeba’ on Luo by finally slowly ending the Chibesakunda dynasty in the country following the removal of Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda who was replaced with Ireen Mambilima as Chief Justice.

Even when appointing Luo, Lungu was not sure if Luo would take up the appointment but bragged that he was not short of human resource if she was not available to take up the ‘Cinderella’ ministerial of Gender.

Luo was promised the vice-presidency position by Lungu and her contribution was so immense that she was one of the rigging machinery who frequented the ECZ data center at Mulungushi Conference and continued threatening ECZ officials with dismissals if they did not change the figures in favour of Lungu.

She also convened a meeting on the Thursday before the election declaration with her Aunt then Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda who was the Returning Officer together with ECZ Director of Elections Priscilla Isaacs, Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda and ECZ IT specialists at which figures were careful worked on.

Luo was appointed Gender Minister and has yet to take up the position up to now as she feels belittled owing to the role she played towards Lungu’s election together Jean Kapata.

But Lungu did not even brink when appointing Kapata to the ministerial position of Tourism as she was among the very first favourate batch of ministers that were appointed when Lungu took over.
