In addition to Chileshe Kapwepwe, outgoing president Edgar Lungu has promised
Mafinga MP Catherine Namugala the positon of presidential running mate, according to Kaizer Zulu.
Whoever will be the running mate to the person who will win as president in the August elections will be the vice-president of the country.
Namugala, the MMD MP for Mafinga did not apply to stand as MP because she has no grade 12 certificate but latest information show that the other reason is that she was told not to apply as she would be adopted as running mate to Lungu.
The Watchdog has been informed that, if she is picked as running mate, a grade 12 certificate will be created for her just like people like Richwell Siamunene whom Lungu wants to stand just to save face.
It is not even clear why Lungu would pick on Namugala who is not even known beyond Parliament motel bar and her constituency.
Lungu has also promised Chileshe Kapwepwe that he would adopt her as running mate. Kapwepwe is currently working at the World Bank in USA but was recently in the country to consult relatives on Lungu’s offer.
On the other hand, Lungu is keeping current vice-president Inonge Wina cheated that she will continue as vice-president and will be adopted as running mate. Due to that assurance, Wina has not applied to be re-adopted as parliamentary candidate for her current constituency Nalolo.
