PresidentnEdgar Lungu on Saturday told Masaiti residents that he does not have wisdom of his own and that he begs for knowledge from ordinary people, which has made him a successful President. Addressing a rally ahead of tomorrow’s parliamentary by-election, President Lungu said he could not travel from Lusaka to tell the residents that he would deliver development to the constituency because he did not know the problems that were affecting them. “Amano nshakwata sana pantu amano ndomba lomba fye kuli imwebene (I don’t have wisdom because I just beg for wisdom from you). That’s why I’m a very successful President; amano mbomfya mano yenu. Nimwe mwebaishiba ifimi chusha so teti nfume ku Lusaka ati, ‘I will bring development, I will bring development.’ What development? What do I know? (The wisdom I use is your wisdom. You are the ones who know what troubles you, so I cannot come from Lusaka and say…),” he said. President Lungu told the people to vote for PF candidate Michael Katambo despite the fact that his election under the MMD was nullified by the Supreme Court on grounds of corruption. “Development is known by you people here, it is this man and yourselves who will determine the future. You voted for Katambo in 2011, you still love him – give him the vote. It’s One Zambia, One Nation. I’m not ashamed to say Katambo does not originally come from here but he is a true demonstration of One Zambia, One Nation,” he said. The President urged the residents not to shy away from enjoying the benefits of joining the ruling party.
