Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) is failing to move in and arrest Kennedy Kamba for forgery, uttering force documents and obtaining goods by false pretence.
Sources in DEC have disclosed that Kamba, in the company of Tamba (Another PF cadre) did purchase maize from FRA to a tune of $13,500 and did pay the said amount to FRA but, later forged the documents to read $135,000 and collected maize of the said value from FRA which they latter sold to Zimbabwe. The two connived with a Mr Siame (Former ZRA Asst Commissioner) who’s company they used to transact.
DEC have since concluded their investigations but received a phone call from State House instructing them to drop the case and stop all investigations. The sources say Kamba later informed them that it was not his deal but that of President Lungu and he was merely sent by President Lungu to over see the transaction on behalf of the President.
The sources further state that it is becoming difficult to deal with most high profile cases as those involved keep getting State House protection and officers are getting frustrated and demoralized.
Kamba is said to b President Lungu’s preferred candidate for the Lusaka Province PF Chairmanship and Lungu’s right hand man for illicit transactions.
Last week, Kamba accused the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) of working with the opposition upnd and targeting Lungu’s strong men for malicious prosecution.
