Lungu to defy law and continue working as president

Forged President Edgar Lungu intends to defy the new constitutional requirement where he will no longer be in office until the process is over by going round the country like a sitting Head of State using government resources.

Perhaps Lungu has also heard that UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and his running mate GBM have already applied for police permits to go round the country and thank voters but these will be going as individual citizens that will be spending their own resources as opposed to Lungu who wants to marshal state security using government resources.

Lungu has now ordered Police to plan for his movement to the Copperbelt and address what he calls a ‘thanks giving rallies’ like a sitting Head of State.

Once the opposition UPND files in the petition, Lungu will lose state powers to the Speaker of National Assembly Patrick Matibini.

But he is ready to defy by going round the country with state security, according to State House sources.
