Lungu to take Barotseland Agreement lies to Mongu next week

Outgoing President Edgar Lungu may dash to Barotseland on Monday 8th August for a last minute attempt to dupe the people that he will restore the defunct Barotseland Agreement of 1964 if they vote for him on Thursday next week.
Lungu’s advance party comprising officials from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs met with some BRE Indunas in Mongu this week to agree on what lies Lungu should bring out to the people as he campaigns for votes using the Barotseland issue.
The Litunga’s handpicked committee which has so far met with President Lungu in Lusaka once has been going round Barotseland urging people to vote for President Lungu but the team has met stiff resistance from the people. In Senanga and Sesheke the team was almost beaten by people after they asked them to support President Lungu.
President Lungu has so far failed to release Barotseland activists despite claiming that he wants to resolve the impasse surrounding the Barotseland Agreement.
