Lungu wants Russia millitary company to install spy gadgets in cellphone towers

lunguDuring his visit to South Africa, President Edgar Lungu requested President Jacob Zuma to assist Zambia strike a deal with a Russian military Company for development of a secret electronic reconnaissance system to  be  installed  in cell phone tower system in Zambia.

According to highly placed sources the secret reconnaissance system is radar imaging device that will be most likely  used  by the  Department of Defence Intelligence (DDI ) and  Zambia  Security Intelligence Services (ZSIS) for  intelligence gathering and political opponents movements and  critical online media blogs surveillance. The device is said to capture images in overcast weather conditions too.

NPO mashinostroyeniya is a Russian rocket design company. During the cold war it was responsible for several major weapons systems, including the SS-19 Intercontinental ballistic missile and the military Almaz space station program.

It still supplies military and other equipment to most poor cpuntries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
